The Best Diet Solution is NO Diet!

The best diet is to make a list of things you should do and forget the fad diet books. Here are four steps to guide you to losing weight like I did.  My weight came off five years ago and has stayed off due to some sensible habits.

The big mistake that all diets make is restricting what and when you eat. This requires a lot of discipline and most people fail after several weeks. What we want to do is help you eat a healthy diet that gets rid of those foods that cause problems like lots of sugar, processed foods, starches, and, of course, fast food restaurants. Put your email in the box to the right to get my book “Top 10 Weight Loss Myths” to get started today.

Below are a few more tips to get you started.

Eat More.

Eat the good food you like, not the quick easy snacks you may be used to. The toughest for me to cut out was the salty potato chips and creamy dip.  I used to go straight to the chip bar at social events.  Now I start with veggies and some form of good protein, leaving a couple of chips to eat after I am half full.  I no longer buy chips and dip at the grocery store or keep chips of any kind in my house. Buy and store good foods you prefer, leaving the bad ones on the grocery shelves.  Obviously veggies and fruit and good protein are at the top of the list to buy.

Eat More Often.

Not eating puts your metabolism into starvation mode, and your body will hold on to stored fat and instead use only the calories you consume.  It’s hard to lose weight when your body thinks you are starving.  Keep healthy snacks on your shelves or in the refrigerator.  I always keep nuts, fruit and my favorite veggie hor dourves around as munchies. Eat three good meals a day and include some of your favorite dishes. Need new ideas?  Try a trip to the grocery store and walk the aisles looking for suggestions.  This brings me to the next step in my no diet routine.

 Move More.

Buying groceries by walking the aisles, does more good than clipping coupons.  It helps you exercise.  This is an important part of any weight loss program. Going to the gym, swimming, walking or running gets your heart rate and metabolism up.  See your doctor before any strenuous exercise, but make this a part of your program to lose weight.

Drink Water.

Give up sugary drinks and soda in favor of good, healthy water. Luckily, I have a good water filter that makes my water taste good.  I count my herb tea as part of my intake of healthy water every day. I also grab a sugarless sparkling water if I need a little boost during the day.  I carry a water bottle (I prefer stainless steel) with me to work, running errands or shopping,

What ever you do, get going on taking one step at a time to lose those extra pounds by not dieting, but eating healthy good foods that you like. Find out about the best diet and learn how to eat delicious food and still lose weight with these amazing fat loss tips.
